Changes to tickets from Sunday 6 March

4 months ago Mon 21st Feb 2022

From Sunday 6 March, we'll be making some changes to our range of fares and tickets.

Whilst some fares will be slightly going up in price, others, including our most expensive single tickets, are coming down. We have frozen the price of other tickets for the third year running, and simplified our range to make travelling with us easier than ever before.

Here's a summary of what's changing:

  • Some changes to single ticket prices across our network
  • The little-used 'South Manchester' range of tickets are being removed
  • Changes to 1 Day, 7 Day and 28 Day ticket prices
  • The special promotional £1 evening ticket will be replaced

Single tickets

Most adult single tickets will be going up by around 30p, except for those tickets which are currently £1.50, which will be frozen. Our most expensive single tickets, currently priced at £4, will be going down to £3.80 - making this the most you'll pay for any single journey.

We know that price rises are difficult to hear about at the best of times, but you can now save even more money by buying bundles of single tickets on our app.

  • £14 for a bundle of 5 single tickets
  • £23 for a bundle of 10 single tickets

igo tickets will continue to be priced at half the adult fare.

South Manchester tickets

Fewer and fewer people are using our 'South Manchester zone' tickets, so from 6 March, these tickets will be removed from our range in order to help make things simpler.

1 Day, 7 Day and 28 Day tickets

Our full-network adult tickets will be going up slightly, as follows. Child ticket prices will remain at half the adult price.

1 Day
£5.20 on app  |  £5.50 on bus

7 Day
£17.50 on app  |  £19.50 on bus

28 Day
£62 on app  |  £62 from a TfGM Travelshop (price frozen)

Group day tickets will increase in price on the app slightly, to £10 (price frozen on bus).

Annual tickets are frozen for the third year running at £648.

Rochdale Road tickets will be priced as follows:

1 Day
£4 on app  |  £4.20 on bus

7 Day
£13 on app  |  £14 on bus

If you travel regularly but not every day, you could save even more with one of our Flexi ticket bundles! From 6 March, these tickets will be priced as follows:

  • 3 day tickets for £15
  • 5 day tickets for £24
  • 10 day tickets for £46

Flexi ticket bundles are available exclusively on our app, so download it today and start saving.

Evening tickets

Our promotional '£1 after 7pm' single ticket offer, which we have managed to keep running since summer 2021, will come to an end from 6 March. However, you'll still pay no more than £2.50 for any single journey after 7pm.

Our evening unlimited travel ticket will stay frozen at £4, so if you're making more than one trip after 6pm, this might be the best value ticket for you.

System One 'any bus' tickets

There are also changes to the prices of System One unlimited travel tickets from 6 March. Get full details of the changes on the System One website.
