Go North West bus

The national labour shortage is being felt across many sectors, with those businesses reliant on skilled drivers and engineers – including bus companies like Go North West – feeling the effects the hardest.

This is a short term problem, and we are working around the clock to resolve the situation. We are recruiting more and more colleagues each week, with new drivers joining our Driver Academy every day, though there is added pressure on the system with lots of companies trying to get new drivers through their driving tests all at the same time.

Changes to times from Sunday 12 December

To help make our buses more reliable for you in light of these continued shortages, we're making some changes to our times from Sunday 12 December. Here's a roundup of what's changing.

17 Manchester - Rochdale

Saturday times will be changed. Buses will now run every 12 mins, combining with the 18 to offer a bus every 6 mins between Middleton and Shudehill.

18 Manchester - Langley

Saturday times will be changed. Buses will now run every 12 mins, combining with the 17 to offer a bus every 6 mins between Middleton and Shudehill. Two buses each hour will extend to the MRI.

CrossCity 41 Sale - Manchester - Middleton

135 Manchester - Bury

Times will be changed on weekdays and on Saturdays. Buses will run up to every 9 mins, and there'll be changes to timetables to improve reliability at busy times of the day.

X63 Manchester - Heywood and Bury

We're really sorry, but the X63 will no longer run from Monday 13 December. Please get in touch with our customer services team if you're no longer able to make your journey using our other services and wish to change your ticket.

We hope these changes will help to make our buses more reliable for you. New timetables can be previewed on our website and app - plan your journey here.

Thank you for your patience as we work through what is a difficult time for everybody. Please remember to be kind to your driver – many of our colleagues are working overtime to keep you moving, and are under a lot of pressure themselves.
